1934 Road traffic act

Comment 12th July 2010

Please repeal that part of the road traffic act 1934 that deal with the 30 MPH speed limit and street lighting. This was being enacted when streets were still being lit and signage was poor. The upshot of the act nowadays is that IT IS ILLEGAL TO PUT 30 MPH REPEATER SIGNS WHERE THERE ARE STREET LIGHTS ….  even if they are really necessary……but OK to put a picture of a camera. This is extrememly silly and confusing as 90% of motorists do not know this law and one suspects is used as a revenue raiser by the traffic police.

Why does this matter?

Save lives just as simple as that!
