On the First of April this year the Government ,BSI and Engineering Institutes introduced the EEC construction regulations and declared the " British Standards " obsolete, the new regulations are a complete anathema to most Engineers using different; terminology, signs, axes etc etc. These new regulations should be run concurrent with the  orginal "British Standards" and old   Standards should be reintroduced.

Why does this matter?

This will probably save the Building Industry about £1 billion  a year in; change, disruption and litigation
