Defence against council tax

Comment 5th July 2010

My under standing is that the council can make any tax demand and we are obliged to pay it. If the council makes an error there is no defence. The magistrates court is powerless and has no choice but to sign warrants authorising bailiff action. There is no apeal or ombudsman.

If your council sends you a demand for £1 million pound you have to pay it.

Why does this matter?

This system contravenes human rights as there is no where to appeal.
