Repeal this Act in its entirety.
Why is it important?
This act, rushed through the dying days of the last parliament, is widely seen as massively flawed, even by those who support the intent of the law, which I do not. It does not achieve what was intended. The consequences of the Act have not been thought through; the implications of the actual provisions are arbitary and "shot gun" in effect; the penalties are draconian, and an infringement of people's rights; the whole concept of legislation in this area has not been sufficiently investigated; and in my opinion, will generate inconsistencies with other areas of law – notably human rights; freedom of information act; data protection act; and other.
