DNA Records Deleted

Comment 31st August 2010

For the government to act on the human rights legislation and order that the DNA and fingerprints of individuals arrested, but not guilty of a crime be destroyed.

Why does this matter?

Keeping the data of innocent people on police computers forever, effectively gives those individuals a silent criminal record. They are flagged and known to police even if they are not guilty of any crimes.
