Don’t treat caravanners as if they were tenants

Tenancy regulations in England insist that electricity charges must be based on a metered supply. The regulations are so phrased as to cover touring caravan sites, where metering is economically unviable. The result is the imposition of blanket increases in fees to cover electricity.

 

Why does this matter?

It increases costs to individuals, and makes them respect the law less. The situation also affects Scotland, as the UK caravanning clubs have imposed across-the-board increases.
