Extend working tax credit to under-25’s living alone.

Comment 2nd July 2010

Extend working tax credit payment to workers aged 18-24.

Why does this matter?

I find it a highly laughable concept that somebody over 25 with a low income can justifiably need more money to live than somebody under 25 with a low income.

It actually angers me that somebody 6 years older than myself with the same income, is entitled to £185.34 per year in tax credits, however I am not, purely because of my age.

My living costs would NOT be any higher if I was 25+ than they are now.

Extending the scheme may cost money, however this can be saved by axing child tax credit for anybody earning more than £25,000pa.
