GPs pay must be cut

Comment 16th July 2010

The average salary of a GP in Britain is £106,000. This makes the GPs the highest-paid family doctors in the world.

There is no sense at all to this over-payment. Substantial cuts to their salaries must take place.

Why does this matter?

The government is planning to make GPs even wealthier than the previous government did. GPs are doing less and less work for more and more pay – the substantial investment in training GPs is not being recouped by the nation.
