If CRB Check is really about protecting children…

Comment 8th July 2010

If the CRB check is really about protecting children, then rather than detailing a list of spent convictions it just needs 2 categories A (Is dangerous to children) B (Not considered dangerous to children) .  The detailing of spent convictions prevents many from working when their convictions might be quite unrelated to anything to do with putting children at risk.  This is a way of continuing to sentence people long after they have served their time and is a crime against human rights.

Why does this matter?

Iain Duncan Smith talks about the importance of getting people back to work, well, this is one way of preventing thousands from working.
