Learning Difficulties- Supported living

Comment 3rd July 2010

civil liberties of individuals with learning difficulties who are very vunerable should be protected and have a safe environment to live in. they should not be put into the community where they are exposed to violence and intimidation, which consequently renders all the hard work that has gone into rehabilitation obsolete. So in a nutshell individuals with learning difficulties should not be put into supported living where the community washes their hands off them !

Why does this matter?

it will affect more than 200,000 people with learning difficulties each year over the next  5 years, because they will be put into supported living where they will have to look after themselves without the necessary lifeskills as opposed to residential homes, where they are looked after and cared for.
