Liberate purchase of “prescription drugs”

Comment 11th July 2010

Many medicinal drugs can be purchased in this country only with a prescription.  They should be freely available.  The purchaser should be the judge of  whether he needs a drug, and nobody else.

Why does this matter?

There are those of us who detest the NHS, that masterpiece of socialism with its catastrophic costs, its inefficiency and its dictatorial methods and attitudes. We cannot afford private medical practitioners. We know a great deal about our bodies and their needs and are perfectly capable of deciding what we need in the way of drugs.

If we had a bit of encouragement, or at least less discouragement, the saving on the national budget could be substantial.

Exactly which law(s) need to be repealed I do not know.  The Medicines Act?
