Long term resident’s rights -v- those of newcomers

Comment 12th July 2010

Examples:

1. village resident with poultry obliged to get rid of same by Council after complaint made by newcomer even though no complaints ever made by other neighbours.

2. popular local pub obliged to cancel music nights because newcomer complained about noise nuisance  again even though no complaints ever made by other neighbours.

People intending to move to a new area should research an area thoroughly before buying and not depend on council to support them in the event of a nuisance in their new neighbourhood.

People moving into a rural area should be prepared for countryside noises and smells and into town for town noises.

Why does this matter?

That long term residents should have their rights respected and not challenged by newcomers.
