Repeal City of London Police Act 1839.
Why does this idea matter?
The City of London is entirely within London and its boundaries are seamless and fluid.
People do not have any idea that they are moving from one jurisdiction to another.
The separation of the force means that people who live elsewhere in London, but work in the City are deprived of access to basic police services.
It requires more money to be spent on branding an independent force within the larger boundaries of the best equipped force in the country.
In addition it has its own hierachy with highly paid civil servants which could be trimmed back if the force were absorbed into the Metropolitan Police Service.
