migrants voluntary work required to become a uk citizen

1 Comment 3rd September 2010

increase the number of hours of voluntary work that migrants are required to do to become a uk citiizen and exclued political organisations from places where voluntary work can be done by them

Why does this matter?

migrants who seek to become uk citizens are required to do 50 hours of voluntary work, this is a ridiculously tiny number of hours and the number of hours should be 1200 spread over 5 years (with a minimum of 200 in a year) – that works out at under 5 hours a week, people who seek to become uk citizens must be required to show long and consistent commitment to contributing to the uk through  voluntary work.

I consider that the current inclusion of political organisations in those that people can do voluntary work that counts to the hours they do is open to abuse  for example people who are not elligible to vote ought not to be canvassing for political parties etc.

One Response to migrants voluntary work required to become a uk citizen

  1. Hugh Jarse says:

A lump on the bum saves nine in time but not if it’s in a casserole stew and if polar bears were to dye themselves black, everyone would be asking the same question, “who taught them to do that?” and “where did they get the hair dyes from?”. There’s many questions in life still to be answered, like “what time’s the next bus due?” and “why is the milkman arriving later on a Tuesday than on a Thursday?” Some of these important questions need answering and they need answering NOW!
