Moratorium on Welsh road improvement schemes

Comment 8th July 2010

Cut off funding to the Welsh Assembly Government for all road improvement schemes in Wales.

Why does this matter?

It would prevent huge sums of money being wasted on unnecessary road improvements.

Serious traffic congestion is rarely a feature of driving in Wales.  Yet the Welsh Assembly Govenment is spending huge sums of money on improvement schemes that are not necessary.  Two examples are the A470 improvement in Mid Wales and the Four Crosses bypass in North Powys.  There is no way that schemes like these would be allocated funding in England.
