mp’s can only talk to constituents

Comment 20th July 2010

Yesterday I submitted and environmental suggestion to the Minister of the environment.

Today I recieved a reply asking for my address as mp's may onjly talk to their own constiturnts.

So how does open government work if your comments have to be filtered.

Also, if this law is followed tothe letter, it means that sitting members, including the prime minister should not make speeches outside their own constituencies or on televison

Why does this matter?

Because open government is important.  Trust in the british parliament is at its lowest ebb since pitt introduced income tax.
