New Forest National Park Authority

Comment 7th July 2010

Abolish the New Forest National Park Authority that was set up by the last government.

Why does this matter?

Abolishing this unelected Quango would restore democracy to the people who live, work and visit the New Forest in Hampshire, England.

The functions of the New Forest National Park Authority were and can be done better, more efficiently, cheaper and democratically by the New Forest Distict Council, Hampshire County Council, the Forestry Commission as well as by the numerous parish councils which have been democratically elected by their residents.

If the coalition Government is really serious about saving money and really serious about democracy it will abolish this undemocratic and unnessary Quango as soon as possible.
