Over the counter medicines

Comment 5th July 2010

Please repeal the patronising regulations which means that a pharmacist has to be present when an adult wishes to purchase certain branded medicine over the counter.

Why does this matter?

When a pharmacist isn't present because they may be, for example, on a break or lunch, it is extremely frustrating and inconvenient for busy adults either to have to shop elsewhere or postpone buying the medicine, especially if the medicine is required for a painful or irritating condition.

It is important because it would remove another frustration for busy adults, save them time and importantly, it would be a reduction in the nanny state syndrome which has grown over the last 13 years.
