My local council sold the land to the rear of my property a few years ago.  I need to cross the land to park in my garage.  I pay the "privilege" of this — as its now considered private land – £7.95 a week.  Can this not be changed?  This equates to nearly £1,000 a year for a household with two cars – which is quite the norm in most households.  I will lose my job in four weeks time.  I pay council tax and indeed road tax.  Can we not look at this again?

Why does this idea matter?

It affects not just myself but most people that live in urban areas.  The council charge £25 a year for one vehicle.  The private company should not be allowed to charge more than 50% more than the council.  This seems a fairer option for householders.
