Part II poisons Registration

Comment 5th July 2010

Repeal the requirement for businesses selling part II prepacked poisons from having to register with the local authority ( Poisons act 1933 I believe).

This provision is out date and achieve nothing.  Yes we need controls for business selling high risk poisons an manufacturing packing and dispensing poisons from bulk.( i.e Part I poisons)

But buisinesses retailing prepacked sealed containers of lower risk poisons should not need to register.  If any control is required it is to add them to underage sales provisins and / or  prevent them being on self service display.

Why does this matter?

This would be more effective in making people realise they are poisons and keeping them out of inexperinced hands and remove an uncecesscary administrative burden from businesses and Local authorities alike.
