The idea
There are people on long term medication who do not need to be monitored by their GP yet GP;s are only allowed to write a prescription for one month at a time. This causes an unnecessary waste of the time for GP's and Pharmacy staff. If prescriptions could be written for longer periods as appropriate that time would be freed up making it easier for other people to get an appointment with their doctor,
Why is it important?
Writing reams of repeat prescriptions every month is a waste of one of the most valuable NHS resourcess, Doctors time. This time would better be spent with patients,
