Prisoners aged 65+ loss of pension rights.

Comment 8th August 2010

At age 65 years all prisoners forfeit their pension rights as a matter of course. This must be

considered Age Discrimination,(and also possibly theft) as the retirement pension is a right,

financed by contributions throughout ones working life via national insurance. Prisoners who

are under the age of 65 forfeit nothing. The pension is not a Benefit Payment, it is personal

money, earned for retirement. Those who have suffered this injustice should demand their

 pension rights!

Why does this matter?

The wives of many prison pensioners are forced onto the benefit system as a result of this

injustice. It is a fact that at least one suicide was caused by the loss of income as a result of

 this action.
