privacy in one’s own home

Comment 2nd July 2010

only the police should have the right to enter one's private premises, with an appropriate search warrant, in pursuit of criminal investigations.  no other body or person should have a right of access.

Why does this matter?

apparently an untold number of bodies have acquired the right of access to domestic properties, under the guise of anti-terrorism, environmental,re-cycling, energy saving and doubtless many other excuses.  None of these causes, however worthy, should over-ride the sanctity of one's own home.  ihow is one to know just who has the right at presentt?  if only the police had a (conditional) right od access that would simplify matters enormously and would be a move in the right direction
