Repeal 67 of NERC Bill

Comment 26th August 2010

Section 67 of the Natural Environment & Rural Communities Act 2006 should be repealed on the grounds that it is a clumsy statute that has caused very unfair and unreasonable impacts to a significant part of the community. Blanket closure of byways is an absurd situation that has reulted from this act .

Why does this matter?

This piece of legislation is restricting the ability of roadusers to explore ancient roadways legally & sensibly acting within a voluntary code of conduct such as that suggested by the Trail Riders Fellowship whilst doing absolutaly nothing to deter illegal actions of the minority. Plenty of laws exist to stop the illegal roaduser .
