The two Acts referred to are still discriminatory towards Roman Catholics and other religious groups. Repeal/reform of the Acts was promised during Tony Blair's second term of office but did not happen as Parliamentary time was not allocated.
Why does this idea matter?
Unnecessary and discriminatory acts are prohibited by other laws designed for the purpose and it seems disingenuous and contradictory (unlawful?) to have the Acts referred to where they specifically allow discrimination against religious groups.
