Repeal the Act Banning Hunting With Dogs

Comment 11th July 2010

This Act has proved to be ill conceived and impossible to interpret. It is consuming Police and Court time unnecessarily, and creating more hostility than before the Act.

The Act was inmposed despite evidence provided by the body enquiring into it, and appears to be simply a misguided piece of class warfare.

Why does this matter?

The repeal of this Act will ensure that a valued and more humane method of pest control can resume. It will reduce the suffering of the wild fox population by reducing the need to snare or shoot foxes, and these methods are cruel and indiscriminate, whereas hunting tends to reduce populations of foxes mainly by eliminating the diseased and unfit specimens.
