Responsibility of minors

Comment 10th July 2010

I remain aghast that minors (under 18's) are summonsed for offences without their parents/guardians being considered responsible for the actions/discipline/behaviour of their children/wards.

Surely the time has come to change this nonsense. Minority means just that, and those below the age of majority are still the responsibility of their parents.

Why does this matter?

Law and order as well as behavioral patterns deteriorated when the age of deference was lost after the abandoment of National Service in the mid 1960's..
