Scrap minimum wage legislation

Scrap minimum wage legislation

Why does this idea matter?

It will restore to employees and employers the freedom to freely negotiate remuneration. In times of economic difficulty and austerity it will help to preserve companies and jobs. It will help the creation of jobs at the margins. It will remove the pressure it puts on pay differentials. It will assist competitiveness and help counter the export of jobs to lower labour cost economies. We have to realise that, we in this country do not have an inalienable right to a comfortable/high standard of living. It is a tough world out there. We are part of that world. To sustain and enjoy our way of life we have to compete.

  1. Completely agree.

The NMW takes away a persons individual freedom, increases the cost of living, denies people jobs and prevents growth.

Scrapping it is the silver bullet to solving the economic crisis.
