Scrap the NHS constitution

Comment 8th July 2010

Completely abolish the NHS constitution

Why does this matter?

This document is irrelevent to sick people at their point of contact with the NHS, and it is useless and inappropriate to those who provide care in the NHS, particularly face to face with the sick and needy. An example is the enshrinement in law of the 18 week target to treatment for hospital care, something which you have stopped monitoring, so why have the law, this metric has merely made those awaiting foloow up in hospital outpatients for example have to wait longer as proirity is given to new referraly not necessarily of more clinical need.
