Simplify public sector procurement and commissioning procedures

Look at how private sector businesses engage suppliers and adopt good practice into public sector procurement and commissioning which is onerous – wasting money and time for both the commissioner and the tenderer.

Why does this idea matter?

Procurement and commissioning procedures are onerous to fullfil; result in businesses wasting time with complex tenders and often mean that unnecessary tendering takes place because the commissioner knows who they want to work with.

Processes are weighted in favour of large organsations and if the Government truly wants to increase the number of small businesses, then the balance needs redressing
