Stop evictions or home repossessions due to rent /mortgage arrears

Comment 2nd July 2010

To stop the use of evictions to tenants or home repossessions of home owners who fall behind on their rent or mortgage payments this is not in the interests of anyone, it also causes more and more people to fall deeper and deeper into the poverty hole.

Why does this matter?

when people fall behind in payments of rent and mortgages there is a simple reason for it they can no longer afford the payments, under the current laws they are then further punished for being poor by then loosing their homes.  this in turn makes it more difficult for them to find other employment to give them the boost to lift them self out of the poverty trap.

Instead when someone is showing signs of difficulty in making payments specialist advisers should be put in place to go through their finances and help them to manage their income/outgoings with agreements to make affordable payments towards their existing debt and housing payments.
