Stop taxing pensioners

1 Comment 1st July 2010

It is completely unfair that someone on a state pension should have to pay a proportion of this back to the Government as tax.

Government don't seem to be open about the fact that pensions are taxed when they annouce the state pension allowances.

As pensioners have paid tax for all of their working lives it seems unreasonable to tax them further on their pensions.

Why does this matter?

This would increase the quality of life for pensioners.

  1. Robert Hedley says:

I believe when you have worked solid from the age og 15 to the age of 65 you have payed your dues to your country. Like national insurance tax should not be payed after the age of 65. The 65 year olds have payed a lifetime of taxes they should be allowed to enjoy whatever financial benefits they have. Leave them alone they have done enough.
