Stop the constant increases in the minimum wage

Comment 13th August 2010

Since its introduction the minimum wage has increased at a disproportionately high rate compared with average wages. This needs to be frozen for a period to give time for businesses to adapt, otherwise there will be a reduction in employment.

Why does this matter?

We are a small business emplying a number of people on minimum wage. The regular increases in the rate are putting severe strain on our ability to employ the same number of workers and we have been forced to reduce the number of employees to maintain the wage bill at managable levels.
