Tax early retirement, even retrospectively

Comment 30th July 2010

Impose additional taxation on people who retire or have retired early (except through significant ill health) to compensate for their reduced contribution to society.

Why does this matter?

People who retire early and in good health are not making their fair contribution to society, Many live in good health for over 30 years after retirement and those of us who work hard to 65 years old (and now beyond) should not have to keep them in fuel payments, NHS healthcare …etc. Hence, early retirement should be discouraged through the tax regime.

Further, many people who retired early over the past 30 years or so should have to pay their tax retrospectively. This could be out of their estate upon death.
