There is no such thing as an “unnecessary” law.

Weren't all statutes debated in Parliament and enacted BECAUSE they were deemed necessary?

If we are to get rid of any, I suggest something that will never happen. Get rid of the television tax (licence fee). The freedom to own a television without fear of financial penalty.

Why does this matter?

The idea that any law is "unnecessary" is bizarre. This whole exercise is just a populist gimmick.
