Time off for trade union duties

The financial burdon should be placed on the trade unions, not the employer. The employer should be required to give the trade union rep. the time off, but the payment should be down to the union.

Why does this matter?

The cost to local authorites is huge and given that local residents are having to bare the brunt of cuts – then the trade unions should.
