Two chief executives for one sub regional public sector quango!

Comment 10th August 2010

Under the Labour Government I knew of one situation in a sub regional public sector quango in which, under a re organisation, the chief executive was no longer needed and his duties taken over by the regional director.  As the outgoing chief executive was close to retirement he was taken on as a consultant (salary over £100,000).  He performed the same duties but had a different title!!

Why does this matter?

firstly, this is just another example of the mismanagement of this countries economy

Secondly, check out how many more public sector quangos have followed this pattern!

This just has to be savings without cutting any services, except of course the 'services' or the capability of levels of spend of the outgoing retiree!!
