The purpose of this act would be to prohibit the placing of advertising A-boards or displays of goods on public pavements,

Why is this idea important?

This would empower the blind, visually-impaired, and those with restricted mobilty who often find that some areas are effective 'no-go' zones due to the problems that they experience as a result of having to negotiate the clutter of A-boards and trade displays on the public pavement. The law needs strenghtening as many councils will not use the current provisions of the Highways Act 1980 in regard to these 'in your thigh' hazards to the vunerable. Public pavements are for people not private advertising!
