The UK have handed over too many passports too easily. The attitude therefore is that the UK is a soft touch and anyone can get one. If however the law is broken, then strict penalties should be incurred. Otherwise, the UK is full of irresponsible foreigners who wouldnt be able to behave badly in their own countries and instead come here and abuse ours. The same attitude that prevents pensioners taking their pension abroad, it’s the same blinkered approach. Now we’ve opened our doors to all and sundry, the UK had better learn to rein in the so called British subjects when they disobey rules.
When a British subject marries a foreign national, if the marriage fails then the contributing parent should comply or lose the right to a British passport. No responsibilies – no rights.
