It's currently almost impossible to legally put a small inflatable boat, rowing boat, canoe, Kayak etc on English rivers, lakes, canals and waterways without a licence. Most of the time they are just prohibited. In scotland you can use a small boat almost anywhere…these controls are entirely unnecessary and restrict freedom of movement.

Why is this idea important?

There are thousands of canoists and small boat owners who would like to appreciate the inland waterways from the rivers, waterways, rivers, canals etc.,…it's just plain crazy that we should have different laws to scotland. fair enough for power boats but hand propelled craft should be exempt from any restrictions.
