There is too much legislation surrounding the erection of windmills for windpower.

The rising cost of gas and electricity is hitting many poorer communities hard, and the effect on the environment is a very secondary issue.

Why can't councils offer streets or communities soft loans or even grants to erect windmills for windpower to serve those communities?

It would bring down the cost to them (the communities) of gas/electricity and, properly done, could contribute to the national grid at the same time.

Why is this idea important?

It's very important to promote green energy.  Gas and oil are limited commodoties and often have to be transported to areas where they are consumed.  They are also the cause of wars.

Wind is everywhere, doesn't get used up and can be harnessed to produce energy for household or business consumption.

Let us see a lot more of active encouragement in it's development.
