allow left turns on a red light
Many countries, such as the US, allow the equivalent of our left turn on red lights. Some countries post a sign indicatiing that this is allowed (majority of cases) to allow exceptions. This would improve traffic flows at many junctions.
Why does this idea matter?
The objective of the previous government appears to have been to use whatever measures were necessary to impede rather than facilitate traffic flows. We need to manage traffic in a manner which minimises delays to the benefit of all road users.
