Extend the time an agency worker has to be employed  in a business from 12 weeks to 52 weeks before the regulation applies.

Why is this idea important?

This will ensure that agency workers that do longer term roles get paid fairly. As it stands this legislation will have the effect of driving down rates of pay for hourly paid staff across the board to national minimum wage levels. A lot of businesses having been working hard to upskill and train their permanent staff and reward them with higher rates of pay. This legislation will deter employers from continue to do this and encourage them to have a national minimum wage rate in place – which once in place will become the basic rate for that business.
