Ban Junk Mail

Outlaw the posting of Junk mail to private addresses. In an age where we are all recycling,  it seems ridculous that we a re-cycling the very same rubbish that drops through our doors. We are supposed to throw it in with the old newspapers so that it can be returned to us again and again.

Benefits Star Ratings Scheme-For those able to work.

Revise legislation to create incentives for working hard and paying Taxes and N.I. contributions, by introducing a star ratings scheme.

Upto five years of paying into the contributory system 1 star.

5 to 10 years 2 stars

10 to 15 years 3 stars

15 to 20 years 4 stars

20 years upwards 5 stars.

There is nothing more frustrating than to have worked hard for a long time, to be told in your hour of need that you do not qualify for this that and everything else, when people who have not paid into the system or paid very little in get most things at their behest.

On a star system it is clear for all those involved what their entitlements are.

There would have to be exceptions for those who are unable to work through disability, but money could be set aside by government for the needy affording them levels of financial protection.

The DWP and HMRC keep records on an individual daatbase all ready. the information is all ready there.

Deficit Reduction Plan

My idea would be for the treasury/taxpayer to keep control of those banks where taxpayers have injected  funds into them. RBS, Lloyds TSB and HBOS.  The taxpayer would want to see a return on their investment!

Encourage new customers from the Business sector or the General Public  to take up new accounts or transfer their business from other less 'lending' friendly Public or Business banks.

Run them as a type of credit union, where Businesses/Public invest to gain credit!

I would keep the majority of banks in the private sector, whilst using the competition from some 'state' owned banks to keep competition healthy, by loaning at reasonable rates.

Police Law and Order

We all have to recognise that we have to have police enforcement of law and order or else we will all end up living in 'dodge city' areas where criminals and their assosciates would 'rule the roost'.

I know that there are neighbourhood policing strategies that target those criminal elements within our communities. However, I would like to see the return of the community beat officer. Not one in name only, but one who is given a patch to work and who would work days and evenings not only to attend community meetings but to be pro-active in dealing with problem elements within his own area. They could call upon a team of plain clothes, that would be part of his sub division in any event, where issues of serious crime need to be dealt with!

Heavy Goods vehicles at peak times

In view of the fact that our Motorways and Dual carriages are 'clogged up' at peak times, a simple solution may be to reward companies using heavy goods vehicles to have them 'park up' between the hours of 7am and 9am and 4pm and 6 pm. Reward the participants with a tax break on their excise duty. i.e. give them a 30% reduction in excise licence duty.

The scheme could be extended to over-night using HGV's by giving them a greater discount to use their vehicles between 9pm and 6am.

A database of those participating could be created. A high visibilty disc could be used on the vehicle to identify it as a participant.

It may sound stupid but some of the best ideas usually are!

Replace Speed Humps with Digital speed warning signs.

Where I recognize that speed humps play an important part in road safety, I also recognize the damage it causes to expensive motor vehicles and the cost of maintenance to repair those vehicles damaged by speed humps.

Remove speed humps where appropriate and install digital speed warning signs to advise a 20 mph speed limit in built areas in school holiday times.

Occassional random speed checks could be used to educate and enforce speed restrictions.

Responsibilty and Fairness in supporting children financially

I have had involvement with the CSA for 10 years! It has been the worst 10 years of my life dealing with their incompetence and their intransigence. It is one thing for a responsible parent to pay child support, but it is another matter when that parent is being persecuted and criminalised. I have paid and have wanted to pay, but bonus seeking staff have continually targeted me as a 'soft option', whilst failing to collect monies from feckless fathers who have NEVER paid to support their children.

For every £1 the CSA collects it costs £1.85. Billions spent on failed I.T. projects and millions on Executive pay of £250,000 plus bonuses and also staff bonuses.

Negotiation and mediation is the way forward. the carrot with the stick on hand for failing to comply. Re-draft the childrens act to incoporatea chapter on parental responsibility!

I have been through ridiculous costly complaints proceedures many times. My own M.P. supported my case to the PHSO and then collusion and corruption kicked in to thwart any hope of justice that I had. A scandal!

I challenge Mr.Clegg to meet me as a prime example of how not to deal with responsible parents who pay and to discuss other more cost effective ways of ensuring that children are supported by their parents, whilst at the same time restoring parity in access to their children and restoring faith in a flawed system that has no place in our society, whatsoever!
