CRB Checks damage the volunteering sector

The CRB check regime seems specially designed to stop people getting involved in helping others. I visit patients in hospital who have had heart attacks.  As a fellow sufferer I can help to reassure them that there is life after heart attack and help their rehabilitation.  I had to have a CRB check so that I could visit adults in hospital.  What a nonsense as many people visit friends and relations in hospital and have access to other patients without going through this costly pantomime. Scrap it!

NHS Money Wasting

Please stop wasting money in the NHS on infertility treatments.  Some women have had to forego having children ever since time began and have had to get on with it.  Some adopted other people’s children and others did not.  Women do NOT have a right to have children and the State has no role in trying to help them have them.  If they want to have fertility treatment then they should pay for it.  State intervention by the NHS in this treatment is extremely expensive and not a role of Government.

Similarly, the NHS should stop doing sex change and sex adjustment treatments.  Again if people want it they should pay for it- not the taxpayer.

My wife assists a charity that is also a Company limited by Guarantee.  It has income of £85,000 a year and spends all of that each year helping disabled members of the public.  It is forced to waste over £1,000 each year on an independent examination of its books and in producing a set of reports and accounts consisting of over 20 pages.
