CSA ACCOUNTABILITY

The CSA treat every absent father as guilty until proved innocent. The powers that the CSA have are draconian and they simply will not listen to common sense. The whole system is based around a Robin Hood syndrome – take from one and give to another with no accountability.

I was taken to Court on an accusation of non payment of child support which was incorrect and discovered that the CSA owed me over £5k!  They admitted 2 months later that they did owe me money yet it took several more months plus a letter to 10 Downing St before a refund was processed. A clear example of maladministration yet the CSA refuse to pay my legal fees leaving me out of pocket due to their error.

I have been told that clothing I buy for my children does not count as child support but is a gift! If i do not buy their clothing then they have nothing to wear when visiting me as their mother refuses to supply anything on  the contact visits but  takes the money. The CSA ask the mother if this counts as maintenance, and expect to get an unbiased answer!

The percentages of income fathers are expected to pay are far to high and take no account of their own expenditure on housing, travel costs, etc nor the child benefit which is normally paid to the mother.

There are numerous examples of concerns over CSA actions on the Internet and I have spoken with other divorced fathers who have similar experiences  to mine.

Firearms Laws

I am a British Citizen, I am licensed in Australia to carry a firearm in the line of my Job as a Bodyguard and Cash-in-Transit officer. I would like the UK to fall in line with the rest of the world in regards to Bodyguard, Security officers, Police officers. I would also like all firearms laws from 1997 remove and instead of the citizens being punished for doing nothing wrong, the criminals are the ones that are punished. Since the 1997 Gun Laws the crime rate in the UK has not reduced it has in fact gone up.

Remove the ban on liquids over 100ml in hand luggage

A ban on liquids over 100ml in hand luggage was implemented as an anti-terror measure in 2006. Technology now exists which is able to scan liquids to determine their contents, this technology is effective and is only being delayed by EU bureaucracy which is holding up the final tests. Given that this is the case the ban should no longer be necessary.

Reverse ban on ‘legal highs’

Following the well publicised ban on 'legal highs', including methedrone, it became clear the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs had had their advice prety much ignored for political, short-term gains.  The deaths linked to methedrone had, in fact, had little or nothing to do with intake of the drug,.

As such, the previous governments ban on the drug was based not on evidence, but on the need to "look" tough.

People who set up websites to sell methedrone did so through on-line banking systems, in some cases paying tax on their earnings. After the ban, almost all popular websites ceased trading. This suggests the men selling the substance were well aware that to carry on was irresponsible.

Reversing the ban on 'legal highs' – sold openly at recent music festivals – would show the this Government trusted members of the public to source and use drugs for their own personal use. Websites which suggest these sorts of drugs often have 'reviews' of the safest, and least safe, allowing drug users to know which ones to avoid. The level of "self regulation" would surprise those on the outside.

Spouse Citizenship

Remove the regulation where a non-EU spouse of a British Citizen, who can proove that they have been legally married for over 5 years AND can prove that they have been living together in Britain for over 5 years; still has to take a British Citizen test (that most British would fail) in order to receive UK Permanent Residency or British Citizenship.

Changing the way fuel and cars are taxed

The current system of taxing petroleum fuels is costing the average motorist too much and needs to be changed with levels of duty reduced to that of the average across the EU.

An alternative to that is to remove the road fund licence for cars and motorcycles as the tax from fuel more than makes up for the road fund licences

Limit social housing to a maximum of 3 bedrooms.

People given Social housing should only be given 3 bedrooms maximum.  The points system should be changed to put working people to the top of the list.  Too many people are having large families and getting free large homes.  If people want a large house they should get a job and get a mortgage.  Why should taxpayers have to subsidise large families to sit on the dole in expensive homes? In countries like Morrocco – men, women and children all sleep in one room. When they get to the UK we allow them to rent large luxury homes in London and pay their rents on welfare.  Housing benefit should be £200 a week maximum.  Why should people be able to live on the dole in expensive areas of London?

Scrap speed cameras employ PEOPLE to do the job instead!

We are increasignly using technology to unemploy people, no more so than in the area of road safety. I propose that we replace the tens of thousands of speed camera's and issue people with hand-held speed camera's to do the job. You could quite comfortably take 100,000 people off the unemployment rolls allowing them on a self-employed basis to keep a percentage of fines. This would be a self-financing proposal (traffic monitors would have to repay the cost of the camera's) it would increase road safety and lower the burden on the NHS in short it would have a number of positive effects. Combined with more sensible speed limits and policies on motorways (not allowing trucks to overtake each other, 55mph max speed in left hand-lane 70mph in middle and 85mph in right-hand lane) we could potentially ease congestion too.

End to Breed Specific Legislation

To bring an end to dogs being banned and euthanised because of their breed or the way they look.

To deal with the issues surrounding crimes with dogs, look at the owner and punish those who train dogs to be dangerous or out of control. Remove their entitlement to own an animal indefinately.

The EU in general

Whatever law it may be, or whatever bill it is, would the gentlemen of the co-alition government care to take back power from Brussels and restore it back into our parliament?

All of the petty buerocracy, like bent bananas, selling items in kilo's, not having a "dozen" eggs etc etc.  What exactly are these poeple doing with there time, other than needlessly interfering with our lives.  Perhaps a change back to common sense will happen?

I await with bated-breath.

Breastfeeding in public beyond 6 months

Hi  at the moment in England we don't have protection for breastfeeding a child beyond 6 months of age I am choosing to feed my daughter beyond that as I agree with experts that there are significant health benefits in doing so.  Unfortunately there are some sectors of society whose attitude is less than you would hope it would be and you do need legal protection to prevent harrassment or discrimination – what am are you meant to say to a 7 month old?  sorry you're too old to feed in public ?  the law I believe should be changed to reflect WHO recommendations and the law currently in scotland which offers protection up to 2 years.

Farmers Red Tape/ Subsidys

Farmers have to endure the constant bullying of Trading Standards who come sit in your own house and proceed to nit pick at paperwork that in most cases like mine are complete fiction as it is impossible to to write every single thing down whilst working ,. Why waste money on these people who enjoy a small amout of power they are given to make us dread there arrival . Farmers have the highest suicide rate know wonder .

Although i used to enjoy the subsidy arriving , i did harbour a certain amount of guilt , to be honest we did need it but fellow farmers are being paid thousands and thousands , it is not fair i do begrudge paying tax if it goes to them . A system to maybe pay farmers benefits if they are struggleing but not a system that pays the rich landlords 100k plus.

Remove Unnecessary Regulations

Get rid of the regulations and laws around home DIY.  Things like the Building Regulations that limit what electrical work may be carried out by anyone, or installing your own fire / stove.  all these rules state that a person who is a competent person registered with an relevant scheme.  Doing a course and paying your annual registration does not make you the most compitent person.
