The Olympics is an entertainment event. Everyone can choose and should pay for their own entertainment. The event should be funded by the competitors their sponsors and the audience like any other event. It should not be subsidised by taxpayers.

Why is this idea important?

This will save literally billions of pounds and ensure that the Olympic bureaucrats think of funding their events instead of leeching off national governments and tax payers. It will introduce financial reality into an event which is way out of control and dominated by ego-maniacs. What a nerve that Olympic officials think they can come to London and dictate what LOndoners and British tax-payers have to spend – they should be grovelling with thanks that we are continuing with this bizarre and extortionately expensive and wasteful event, particularly given the current financial climate.
