I am a non-believer with contempt for each and every religion. Many children find worship a laughable, ludicrous idea. 50-plus years ago when I was at school we used to moan and groan about being “asked” to worship – many of us simply didn’t. It was far more interesting to try to guess who was the perpetrator of the unpleasant odour that was pervading the room!
There can be no more successful way of making people reject religion than by attempting to force it down their throats. So perversely, even though I am an Atheist, I am in favour of Compulsory Collective Worship.
