The Coroner's system is antiquated and too localised for modern circumstances. The 2009 Act moves away from that approach and aims to put in place a modern system. The present system causes a great deal of unnecessary anguish to the bereaved. For this reason, reform is needed and Parliament has already expressed its view.
Implement the reforms in the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 so that the coroner's service is fit for the 21st century. There is much in this Act which will be immensely welcome to those bereaved.
