CRB Checks should only disclose convictions.

More and more jobs are requiring Criminal Record Bureau checks, many for increasingly dubious reasons.

I propose that these checks disclose only actual convictions proved in a court of law, or cautions accepted by an offender.

Why does this idea matter?

While in many cases it is bad enough even convictions being required to be disclosed, the worst thing is that these CRB checks disclose not only convictions but also Not Guilty results and even things which have never even gone to court. As a result someone can be refused jobs (or worse still even lose an existing job) due to some malicious allegation with no foundation whatsoever or some meaningless tittle tattle.
